The need to change examination system after 12th.
Hi friends,
I am a simple student who tried his best for an iitian tag after passing 12 with 92% and 10 with 94%.
IitJee 2010,4.72 lakhs students appeared for hardly 9000 seats. Aieee 2010,number of applicants reaching guiness book records as 11 lakh competing for 20000 seats. In medical the student:seat ratio is far more worse.But with the passage of years,this ratio will keep on increasing manifold.
In my view,are this 2-3% of toppers the real toppers? I agree that they worked all day&night to reach that spot but what about the rest 95%???
The whole society wants there daughter&son to be doctors&enginers and to worsen it,the degree must be from an iit or aiims only.
Have you pondered,What happens to us,the students???
A child aiming to become a Dj,spends his life remixing physical theories &chemical formulae&the child who wants to pursue adventure sports as his career,jumps frem skyscraping buildng due to fear of bad results.
Just to add,i lost one of my friends who could not face the society as he could not crack iit aftr studying 3 years in kota.His mind was not so sharp for iit as i know but he was brilliant in animation.But in our middle class society,just a btech/mbbs degre give you status&another career means student is weak...
I fear the day is not far when the 1:47 ratio of iit turns 1:100.
So what should be done???
I have a plan. Why don't we conduct a single exam for engineering&same for medical too.this single exam would be of 3 papers conducted on 3 sundays consecutively covering all the topics and giving equal weightage to each and everything.Admission to all the university should be through this.
We often face the problem that 1 exam paper cant contain all the chapter,so better to increase the papers&average percentile of all 3 must be graded.Student performance of school must be marked seperately in that.
No. of seats in colleges with good labs&professors must increase because no of students is increasing by leaps&bounds.
Now,i want your suggestions that how do you want to change this examination system.
Please reply and remember we are the future so we have to change.
